Henry Inlander (1)

I have been reflecting with sadness on the challenge of trying to bring Inlander back into view. His obscurity and the general lack of knowledge about his work is not warranted. His role as an emigre artist in the early 1950’s was recognized at the time and in many ways celebrated by curators and critics. Whatever forces turned against him, it has become difficult to bring him back into focus in the present. Here is a gouache we recently found.
